How we keep people safe
Selfcarta lets people rate real people, which is why these rules are part of the product. Nobody can be rated unless they asked, raters stay anonymous, and every comment is checked by a person before it is seen.
How anonymity works
- Results appear only once at least 3 people in a circle have answered, and only as averages.
- This is enforced on our servers, in every page, data response and generated image.
- If a rater later deletes their account, their answers go too. If a circle falls below 3, its results hide again.
- The Partner circle is the exception: it is one-to-one and named, and the partner is told before answering.
Moderation
The only free text a rater can write is "one thing I value about [name]", up to 140 characters. A filter removes abuse and links, and then a person reviews it. Only approved comments are shown.
Age
Selfcarta is for adults 18 and over. If you tell us you are under 18, we remove your details straight away.
Consent
Field Guides, Overlays, coach access and team sharing all need your explicit choice, and you can withdraw at any time. Results must never be used for hiring, firing or promotion decisions.
Report a problem
Use our report form. Every rater page, shared guide and Guess Me page links to it. We can close a share link, delete a rating or suspend an account, and each of those actions is recorded.
Support resources
Selfcarta is not a crisis or health service. If you are struggling, or a result has left you feeling low, please reach out. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
